RBLF Mortar Platoon Joins Sabah Exercise

Bandar Seri Begawan - Some 140 personnel from the Mortar Platoon of Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF), led by Major Jafar Ali bin Haji Othman, left yesterday for Kota Belut, Sabah for the seventh series of joint exercise "Mertak Bersatu" between RBLF and the Malaysian Army, which runs from November 6-19.

A farewell ceremony was held yesterday morning at the First Battalion Parada Square, Berakas Garrison, which was attended by RBLF Commander Colonel Pengiran Dato Haji Rosli bin Pengiran Hj Chuchu and RBLF senior officials.

Among the objectives of the exercise are to train mortar platoons of RBLF and Malaysian Army, to exchange their planning and operational capabilities, and to maintain close ties between the two forces.  -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
