Minister In Singapore To Attend 2nd EAMFF

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Pehin Major General (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Awg Hj Mohammad left for Singapore yesterday to attend the 2nd East Asia Ministerial Meeting on Families to be held on November 6-7.

The minister will today be attending the official opening ceremony for the 2"d East Asia Ministerial Forum 'on Families (EAMFF) and will join discussions on the progress report on the Hanoi Statement for Regional Cooperation on the Family as well as a country report on building resilient families. The first EAMFF was held in Hanoi, Socialist Republic of Vietnam in 2004.

November 7 will see the review and adoption of the Draft Singapore Statement on Building Resilient Families along with discussions on other matters.

The closing ceremony of the 2nd EAMFF is expected to be hosted by Minister of Development; Youth and Sport, Dr Vivian Balakrishnan.  -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
