Yahya was buried yesterday morning
at the Terunjing Muslim Cemetery in Lambak Kiri. Ironically he
filmed one of his drama scenes at the cemetery just before the
holy fasting month of Ramadhan.

official at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports earlier this
year, is survived by his wife and four sons.
He played his last theatrical
play Hasrat last July 20 during a side event for the Knowledge

His last three drama serials, "Sisa
Senyum Mu", "Pengabaian" and "Jiran" were completed just before
Ramadhan and were scheduled to be shown on national television by
next year. |
Yahya began his acting career in
1981, acting in a TV drama entitled "Setitik Budi" directed by the
late Pg Hj TajuddinPg Hj Tengah. He has acted in more than 50 TV drama
productions including serials and theatre performances. He was also an
active member of the Rumpun Seni Lakon (RUSILA) theatre group and a
vice president of the Affiliation of Drama, Entertainment and Creative
Artists (GAPHAR).
His artiste friends, drama and
theatre producers were amongst those who attended his burial yesterday
morning.
Fighting back tears, some of his
friends considered Yahya as an "exemplary actor who was always on time
at the set and easy to get along with".
Meanwhile, Pg Hj Abu Bakar Pg DP Hj
Mohamad, the president of GAPHAR said the association sent its
