SM Arab Laki-Laki Hasanal Bolkiah Wins 16th Dzikir Daba’ie Contest

Bandar Seri Begawan - "I would like to propose that aside from the Dzikir Daba'ie competition, there should also be Dzikir Maulid Syarafil Anam or Dzikir Brunei contests by the Ministry of Education's Department of Curriculum, so that students can master the Islamic cultural arts."

This was stated by Deputy Minister of Education, Pg Dato Seri Setia Dr Hj Mohammad Hj Abd Rahman, who was present as guest of honour at the 16`1 Dzikir Daba'ie competition between schools and colleges, in conjunction with Teacher's Day 2006, held yesterday at the Islamic Da'wah Centre in Berakas.

Welcoming remarks were also delivered by chairman of the organising or working committee. SM Arab L aki-Laki Hassanal Bolkiah emerged as the champion in both categories.

Other winners were the Maktab Perguruan Ugama Seri Begawan, SM Sayyidina Hassan, Maktab Sains Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan and SM PAP Hjh Masna.

The guest of honour presented prizes and the certificates to the winners and participants as well as a souvenir to the committee's chairman. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
