DPMM FC Off To Fying Start
By Dannie Abu Basrah
Bandar Seri
Begawan - DPMM FC were off to a flying start in the DPMM FC
4team Football Championship 2006 after they defeated QAF FC 3-0 in the
curtain raiser at the Jerudong Mini Stadium yesterday with all three
goals coming very late in the game.
DPMM
FC kicked off the match featuring new signing Arsyah Ayob on the left
flank with the attack spearheaded by the partnership of Fadlin Galawat
and Md Shahrazen.
Coach Buketa Ranko also listed three
trial players in the substitutes namely Henry Baysah from Liberia,
Kennedy Simwanza from Zambia and Thato Siska from Botswana.
QAF
FC meanwhile fielded their usual line-up including imports Viban
Francis Bayong and Ito Dan in the heart of midfield.
Both teams approached the game in a
physical manner with hard tackles flying all over the pitch fighting
for possession as they tried to get into gear.
Proceedings eventually saw QAF FC
settled early with warning shots from Viban Francis Bayong and Ito Dan
just outside the box.
DPMM
FC skipper Rosmin Hj Md Kamis responded with a stinging shot from 20
yards out on the 21st minute but aimed straight at the goalie. Then
Rodrigo Lombardo Tosi came close to scoring for DPMM FC on the 36th
minute after his header only managed to rattle the woodwork.
Mohd
Adie Arsham Mohd Salleh too nearly gave his side the lead at the other
end benefiting from Tosi's miss-kicked clearance, but saw his shot
denied by a goal line clearance.
The second half saw a slightly
improved performance from DPMM FC but still lacked the flow of a team
game. Coach Buketa Ranko made a few changes in the early of the half
introducing Yusof Salleh and Thato Siska.
The substitution proved to be
effective as it led to the opening goal scored by Rodrigo Lombardo
Tosi who headed home from close range on the 76th minute which opened
to the creation of two more goals both coming from Thato Siska.
Thato
Siska's first was scored on the 81st minute, sidestepping a QAF FC
defender before firing home with his left foot from inside the box as
he netted his second three minutes from time with a header to end the
match 3-0.
There was also a- "Man-of-the-match"
award after the game that went to DPMM FC skipper Rosmin Hj Md Kamis,
presented by the Sabah FA Secretary-General, Harry Baking. -- Courtesy of Borneo
