Stocking Up Our Local Blood Bank

Begawan - Over 100 Borneo United Enterprise personnel yesterday
turned up at the RIPAS Blood Bank to donate a pint of blood and
fulfill their social obligation of saving lives.
Leading the personnel - some of who
came from as far as Belait and Tutong - was its Managing Director
Stanley Lim.
According to Mr Lim, the campaign is
an annual event held as part of the company's community project.
The RIPAS Blood Bank is appealing to
members of the public, government and non-government organisations to
come forward to make a donation.
Interested parties can sign up as
walk-in donors at the RIPAS Blood Bank.
Meanwhile, the RIPAS Blood Bank
Mobile Unit will continue its drive by operating at the following
venues throughout the district.
- Sunlit Advertising Office on
Saturday, November 4, commencing 9 am
- Tutong Camp on Tuesday, November
7, commencing 8 am
- Penanjong Camp on Thursday,
November 9, starting 8 am
- Tai Chi Association on Thursday,
November 9, starting 7pm
- Berakas Camp on Thursday, November
14, commencing 8 am
- Bangar Camp on Thursday, November
16, starting 7 am
In 2005, the total amount of blood
collected from walk-in donors was 2,180 pints compared to 2,323 pints
the previous year.
The total amount of blood collected
by the mobile unit in 2005 was 8,563 pints compared to 7,615 pints in
2004.
Te e overall amount of blood
collected last year was 10,743 pints, showing an increase compared to
year 2004, which amounted to 9,938 pints.
Meanwhile, Persatuan Warganegara
Malaysia (PWM) will tomorrow hold its third blood donation drive from
9 am to 3 pm at the Sunlit Advertising Office in Beribi
PWM invites all its members and
friends to come forward and support the campaign.
