NCB Holds Talks On Danger OF Drug
Abuse For Hotel Staff
By Lyna Mohamad
Bandar Seri
Begawan - The Narcotics Control Bureau has continuously created
public awareness and understanding on the dangers of misuse of drugs.
The private sector is still being
actively encouraged to enhance their efforts and involvement in
supporting the government's desire towards a community free from this
global scourge.
With regards to this the bureau
conducted a talk and exhibition yesterday at the Holiday Lodge Hotel
in Jerudong with the attendance of 44 personnel headed by the hotel's
Operational Manager, Rhey I Tenorio.
Among the objectives of yesterday's
event was a continuation of NCB's awareness and understanding
campaign. It was also aimed at reaching out to more private sector
firms and disseminating anti-drugs - messages, getting the private
sector involved in combating drug activities and act as an example for
other private sector firms to be more active in raising awareness to
its respective staff on the risks and dangers of drug abuse.
Drug consumption or trafficking
activities can happen anywhere. Guesthouses or hotels are the two most
popular and convenient places to carry out drug related activities due
to their privacy.
The hotel parties are hence targeted
to provide understanding on the dangers of drugs and its risks. NCB
also hopes to gain cooperation from hotels to assist the bureau in
combating the drug abuse and trafficking activities at their premises.
