Budget Travellers Cry Foul Over Airport Tax

Bandar Seri Begawan - Budget fare travellers who need to book and purchase tickets through the Internet urged the relevant agencies including the concerned airline to look into its ticket purchasing policy.

They said many travellers here find themselves at the losing end when they purchase the tickets but later decided not to board the flight.

"It is not fair that people buy tickets through the Internet have to pay for the airport tax or other service charges together. What if they cannot make the flight? They may end up paying for something they have not used, which is the airport," they said.

They said by right the airport tax should be returned to buyers if they decide not to board the flights.

They said passengers should only pay the tax or other service charges when they are about to board their flight at the airport. "People should only pay for the ticket fares on the Internet," they added. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
