Brunei To Be Featured On BBC In
2007
Bandar Seri
Begawan - The Empire Hotel and Country Club recently hosted the
stay for the crew of the BBC Holiday Programme from the United
Kingdom.
The crew was in the Sultanate from
October 23 - 29 to film Brunei and all that the country has to offer.
The highlight of their trip was a
visit to the palace to pay respect and to offer festive greetings to
His Majesty and members of the royal family.
The trip was organised by Brunei
Tourism and was supported by Royal Brunei Airlines and Sunshine Borneo
Tours.
The Brunei episode of the BBC Holiday
Programme is expected to be shown sometime in 2007. In 2007, BBC
Holiday Programme will celebrate its 38th anniversary as the United
Kingdom's longest running travel show.
As the BBC's flagship travel
programme, Holiday attracts a regular audience of over four million
viewers each week.
The Brunei episode will be presented
by renowned presenter Saba Douglas-Hamilton. During their stay in
Brunei, the crew took in fantastic footage ofthe rainforest, Kampong
Ayer, the Proboscis monkeys, mosques and several other fascinating
Brunei attractions. It was the crews' first visit to the Sultanate and
they were delighted with everything Brunei has to offer.
With daily flights by Royal Brunei
Airlines to London, the Empire Hotel & Country Club hopes that through
initiatives such as these, more guests from the United Kingdom will
choose to visit Brunei for a holiday. -- Courtesy of Borneo
