In True Bruneian Spirits

Bandar Seri Begawan - This year's Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations have been more joyous than those in previous years, with locals of all races thronging open houses in true Bruneian spirits.

"We have been accepting visitors since the first day. Only now that the Raya is in its second week that we finally have time to visit relatives and friends," celebrants said.

Apart from attending open houses, where sumptuous meals are served, organisations are also organising Raya gatherings at restaurants and hotels. For young boys and girls, Raya celebrations mean new clothes, visiting each other's homes and heaps of fun with fireworks. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
