Brunei Win Another Silver

Manila -
Haji Eddie Jofriani bin Hj Johari added one more silver medal for the
Brunei contingent in the 23rd SEA Games yesterday as he went down to
Malaysia's P Ramasamy in the final match of the Karatedo Kumite 55kg
event.
Prior to reaching the final Hj Eddie
Jofriani-defeated his opponent from Vietnam. Currently, Brunei has
collected two silver and two bronze medals. HRH Prince Haji Sufri
Bolkiah, President of the Brunei Darussalam's - National Olympic
Council yesterday visited the Hotel Tar Que Istana Hotel in Alabang to
take a first hand look at the venue and meet Brunei's sole participant
in the equestrian event, Pengiran Anak Nasir bin Pengiran Anak Haji
Mohd Jaafar.
Upon arrival, HRH Prince Haji Sufri
Bolkiahwasgreeted byPengiranAnakHaji - Jaafar ibni Pengiran Pemancha
Sahibul Rae Wal Mesyuarah Pengiran Anak_Haji Mohammad Alam, and the
manager of the Tar Que Istana Hotel.
HRH Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah was
accompanied by Brunei Darussalam's chefde-mission to the SEA Games,
Awang Japar bin Bangkol.
Pengiran
Anak Nasir is expected to participate in the equestrian event. But on
Monday during training, Pengiran Anak Nasir suffered injuries after he
fell off his
horse while riding.
The equestrian event begins today.
Meanwhile in the Taekwando Women's Flyweight category, Brunei
participant Dyg Aflina Shareena Rosli lost to Raha Dewi Nita of
Indonesia 9-1.
In the Mountain Bike Downhill Men's
finals, Brunei cyclist, Muhd Raihan Abd Aziz finished the race in 6th
place with a time of 3:29:91 as the top two spots were dominated by
the host cyclists, Umbac Joey Barba and Michael Panuela Borja in first
and second respectively. In third for the bronze medal was Wisit
Phuengnoi of Thailand. --
