Bandar Seri
Begawan - Drama unfolded at the Brunei International Airport
when a military transport plane made an "emergency landing" yesterday
morning amidst the deployed Emergency Services units based at the
Brunei International Airport.
A member of the Royal Brunei Air
Force (RBAF) said the incident was part of a military training
exercise.
The CN235 aircraft involved was used
by the RBAF during its humanitarian relief missions to Banda Aceh,
Indonesia earlier this year.
Travellers
at the international airport's departure terminal were prevented from
checking into flights as the aircraft made its way through the
airspace above the airport before the "emergency landing".
One traveller, Kevin, said he could
not check in to his Kuala Lumpur flight, until after the training
exercise. --
