Schools Inspected On Daily Management

Bandar Seri Begawan – Dato Awang Haji Suyoi, Deputy Minister of Education, did a on the spot check on the management of schools during the current holy month of Ramadan.

The visit included the monitoring on aspects of comfortable working environment, teaching and learning institutions in the country when he called on two primary schools in Brunei Division Three yesterday. He first visited the Kiarong Primary School in Gadong.

The Deputy Minister was briefed by Cikgu Hajah Mariam binti Haji Awang Besar, school’s head, on the school’s objectives, administration, management and academic programmes.

The school has 44 teaching staff with 678 students in the morning and the general education session. Some 21 teachers have 534 students for the religious education session in the afternoon.

He later visited the administration block, which provided a staff room and a room for the special needs students.

Dato Awang Haji Suyoi also had an opportunity to observe the activities carried out by the Primary Six students and later toured classrooms in the other three school blocks.

From Kiarong Primary School, Dato Awang Haji Suyoi proceeded to the Mata-Mata Primary School.

He was briefed on the school’s administration and management by Cigku Moksin bin Haji Mohammad, school’s headmaster.

The school was built in 1978 and used a year later. It has one administration block, two building blocks for classrooms, two computer rooms and a multipurpose hall.

The deputy education minister’s visit was also intended to observe the school’s future plan like the academic, staff development and also extra curricular activities.
