Egg shells from ostrich, kiwi, emu or
ducks, can designed creatively into beautiful decorations or jewellery
boxes.
The largest is an ostrich's egg,
which has a very hard shell, unlike chicken's or duck's eggs.
Emu's
eggs are dark green and need not be sprayed with a different colour,
as it gives out beauty in its natural hue.
Eggs of the ostrich, kiwi and emu,
are rare, and are thus expensive. "It's much cheaper to create your
own egg decorations rather than buy them in the market," said Hajah.
"The price of decorated eggs can be very costly. It can cost a couple
of hundreds for just one eggs," she said.
To make an egg decoration, make a
small hole on the shell and drain the contents. Spray the empty shell
with the desired colour. Leave it to dry for a few hours. String
colourful sequins together and stick on the egg shell by using super
glue. Golden laces, which can be found in shops, can give the eggs a
more elegant look.
