Growing

Bandar Seri
Begawan - Several food stalls have been set up at Setia
Kenangan Complex in Kiulap during the Ramadhan month.
A stall there specialises in
Hainanese chicken rice, a favourite among those breaking the fast.
Chicken rice or 'Kai Fan' is the most
famous dish among the Chinese, but the popularity of this dish is not
limited to the Chinese community alone. The dish has become popular
among Malays as well.
Madam Rohana Abas, storeowner, said
her chicken rice is made up of a recipe that originates from
Singapore.
She said many flocking to her stall
are Singaporeans.
Rohana added that she liked to make
her chicken rice as authentic as possible to please her customers'
taste buds.
"I always buy chicken rice from
this stall as it reminds me of home. I like to eat Hainanese chicken
rice from my country," said Jaafar, a Singaporean.
Rohana said the stall begins at 3 pm,
but the chicken rice is usually sold out by 6 pm. She added that she
intends to specialise in Hainanese chicken rice in the future, seeing
that the demand was so good. (Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin)
