to a press release.
It covers all aspects
of negotiations and conflict management and is both
lecture-based and action- oriented in an international
learning environment.
In the three-day
programme, participants are exposed and challenged to
all facets of negotiations and begin to understand their
own strengths and limitations in such a context. They
are also shown how communications and group dynamics,
coalitions etc are part of the skills of a confident
negotiator.
The Negotiation EP will
be delivered by CMPartners, regarded as the top
international consulting firm in helping individuals and
organisations improve problem-solving, communication,
and management of their most important working
relationships of negotiations and conflict management.
Tom Schaub, managing
partner of CMPartners, and his team, will deliver this
programme in Brunei. CMPartners is a development of the
Harvard Negotiation Project (Harvard Law Faculty), which
is the global leader in negotiations. He is a colleague
of Professor Emeritus Roger Fisher, founder of the
Harvard Negotiation Project.
This international
linkage with a high prestigious leadership partnership
is an indication of the benchmark, which ILIA intend to
set in terms of its standards.
The Negotiation EP is
for very senior to top levels of managers in private and
public sectors.
ILIA would focus on
being the premier academic centre in the provision of
research and training on issues and concerns related to
the advancement of Negara Brunei Darussalam, with an
emphasis on leadership and innovation, according to a
press release.
The institute said it
would encourage a multi disciplinary and multi-sectoral
approach whereby beneficial partnerships and
collaboration will be sought and established at both
local and international levels.
In Brunei, ILIA will be
the first institute of its kind. This highly relevant
and multidisciplinary university wide institution is
anticipated to make a big impact and contribution to
Brunei and internationally.
It is also anticipated
that ILIA will one day be seen as instrumental for UBD's
elevation towards a world class and nationally relevant
university.
Although institutes in
the fields of leadership and embracing the concept of
innovation and change are very much in vogue and
established especially in the West, similar institutes
are only just emerging within the region.
LTA's mission is to be
premier national institute for the promotion and
understanding of responsible innovative leadership and
to develop outstanding real world leaders in public,
private and social sectors through the provision of
training and consultancy. --
