His Majesty Sends Condolences

Bandar Seri Begawan - His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday sent his condolences to China's President Hu Jintao and Premier Wen Jiabao, following the devastating earthquake that struck Sichuan Province.

In the message, His Majesty expressed great sadness at the loss of life and destruction that occurred in many parts of China as a result of the earthquake in Sichuan Province on Monday.

The monarch also conveyed the Brunei government and its people's sympathy to those affected by the natural disaster, as well as their support for efforts to overcome the difficulties faced by the Chinese people.

The people of Brunei also share the sadness experienced by the people of China, and offer their deepest condolences to all who have been affected, His Majesty said in his message. -- Courtesy of The Brunei Times
