Brunei Lose 1-0 To Philippines

Begawan - Brunei Darussalam fell to a 1-0 defeat at the hands
of host, Philippines, in their first match in Group B of the AFC
Challenge Cup qualifying round at Iloilo Sports Complex yesterday.

Caligdong on 29 minutes was enough to secure the first win for the
host nation known better for basketball.
Brunei Darussalam seeded Number 12
in the tournament couldn't find an equaliser until the end of
regular time.
Under coach Moksen Mohammad and
Kwon Oh Son, Brunei Darussalam will next play against Bhutan on
Thursday (May 15) at the Barotac Nuevo Plaza Field.
Brunei will round off their
campaign against defending champion, Tajikstan at the Iloilo Sports
Complex on Saturday (May 17).
Spilt into four groups, a total of
sixteen teams ranked 5-20 are taking part in the qualifying round
for the AFC Challenge Cup 2008.
DPR
Korea, Turkmenistan and Myanmar have already booked a spot into the
final.
The winners of the AFC Challenge Cup 2008 and 2010 will
qualify for the AFC Asian Cup 2011 finals to be held in Doha, Qatar. -- Courtesy of Borneo
