By James Kon

Bandar Seri Begawan - Brunei Darussalam fell to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of host, Philippines, in their first match in Group B of the AFC Challenge Cup qualifying round at Iloilo Sports Complex yesterday.

Brunei Darussalam seeded Number 12 in the tournament couldn't find an equaliser until the end of regular time.

Under coach Moksen Mohammad and Kwon Oh Son, Brunei Darussalam will next play against Bhutan on Thursday (May 15) at the Barotac Nuevo Plaza Field.

Brunei will round off their campaign against defending champion, Tajikstan at the Iloilo Sports Complex on Saturday (May 17).
