AFS Engineering Organises Sound System Seminar

Bandar Seri Begawan - A seminar on sound system was held on Tuesday at the Meeting room, Level 3 of the Rizqun International Hotel in Gadong. The seminar organised by AFS Engineering Sdn Bhd was participated by officials and staff from selected government departments of several ministries, many of whom are responsible for operating and maintaining sound systems in their respective organisations.

The half-day seminar comprised of a presentation on Sound System Fundamentals and Design as well as a Q&A session and product demonstration. The seminar aimed to deliver up-to-date information on the sound system currently available. The seminar also focused on the basics of the technicality of sound system as well as the PA system.

The product demonstration meanwhile aimed to enhance the participants' understanding.

The organiser believed that the seminar would help the participants to enhance their technical knowledge on sound system.

One of the participants, Hj Lias from Youth and Sports Department of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports told the Bulletin, the seminar was useful to him in terms of carrying out his daily task. Hj Lias is currently attached to the PA System Unit of the department.

He hoped more such seminars could be held in the future and called for longer and comprehensive seminars with emphasis on practical sessions.

The seminar was delivered in two modules covering sound system basics and products introduction of RCF Pro-Sound. The first module covered system elements, sound system fundamentals, loudspeakers, feedback and important design criteria. The second module saw the presentations on a range of up-to-date sound system products.

The seminar drew participation from officials and staff from the government ministries and departments including Youth and Sports Department of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports as well as Public Works Department of the Ministry of Development. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
