Students Demonstrate Skills In Dance Competition

Bandar Seri Begawan - The preliminary round of the National Dance Competition for Primary Schools was yesterday held at Pg Anak Puteri Hajah Masna Secondary School, drawing the participation of 53 dance troupes from schools nationwide.

The objectives of the competition are to seek talents and encourage students in arts - especially dance; instil interest in cultural dance; and encourage cooperation in a team and competition.

Thirty dance troupes have made it to the semi-final which will be held on June 14. Sixteen teams will compete in the morning, while the remaining 14 will demonstrate their skills in the afternoon.

Of the 30 teams, only 12 will move on the finals to be held at Sayyidina Abu Bakar Secondary School Hall on July 30. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
