SCB Joins RBA's Royal Skies
Programme
By Ben Ng
Bandar Seri
Begawan - Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) and Royal Brunei
Airlines (RBA) yesterday signed an agreement on the Bank's
participation in RBA's Royal Skies programme.
Held at the Sheraton Utama Hotel in
the capital, the event was attended by Chief Executive Officer Tiew
Siew Chuen, Captain Sheikh Rashid Sheikh Hj Salam, Senior Vice
President Commercial — Yield and Planning of RBA, senior management
from both the bank and the airline.
With this agreement, SCB is
introducing RBA's Royal Skies miles to its Credit Card Rewards
Programme, which will allow SCB cardmembers to convert their
Standard Dollar points earned from their credit card into Royal
Skies Miles.
Cardmembers, however, have to be
registered with Royal Skies to be eligible.
"This is indeed another milestone
for Standard Chartered Bank. We are delighted to partner with Royal
Brunei Airlines, our national carrier, to provide our customers with
another reward choice that adds to the existing comprehensive range
of reward choices to our credit card customers. Royal Skies is a
programme that we have been eager to partake in since its launch. We
are positive that our customers will benefit from this timely
partnership," General Manager of Credit Cards and Personal Loans,
Annie Ng, said yesterday during her welcoming remarks.
Captain Sheikh Rashid said, "Royal
Skies attributes much of its success to its simple and generous
nature, as this has made the programme very accessible to our Royal
Skies members.
"Through this partnership with
Standard Chartered Bank, we are able to offer our members another
avenue of access to mileage accrual; and it also provides the
opportunity to reach out to Standard Chartered cardholders with our
brand of service. We are very excited to be in this venture with
Standard Chartered Bank Brunei." -- Courtesy of Borneo
