Errant Motorists Stopped

Bandar Seri Begawan - Seven compound fines were issued by the Muara Traffic Police to errant motorists at a roadblock yesterday. The offences included driving without valid road tax, worn-out tyres and bringing excessive passengers.

The two-hour roadblock, which started at 6.30am, was a routine operation to nab drivers who do not comply with traffic rules and regulations. The operation led by DTO Insp Md Addly and 10 personnel was conducted along Meragang highway of the Muara-Tutong highway.

The Muara Police District over the past three years (January 2005 to March this year) recorded a total of 229 cases of traffic offenders. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
