Forty Sekolah Menengah Muda Hashim
(Tutong) students yesterday made their way to the Royal Regalia in
the capital for an educational visit.
Led by teachers Abd Razid bin Hj
Abd Kadir and Harith Hj Mohamad, the visiting group was welcomed by
Norhayati Hj Masri from Education Services, Museum Department.
The students first viewed the
exhibits from the Royal Coronation in 1968, before moving on to the
Royal Exhibition Gallery, Silver Jubilee Exhibition Hall and the
History and Development Constitution Exhibition Hall.
"The visiting students were
Secondary III pupils who will be sitting for their Penilaian
Menengah Bawah (PMB) exams this year-end," said Abd Razid.
"The visit was part of their MIB
syllabus to help them further understand the concept and to have a
first hand look at the royal regalia that have been inherited from
generation to generation.
"Educational visits like this are
conducted every year for Secondary III students of Sekolah Menengah
Muda Hashim to allow them the opportunity to travel from the Tutong
District to Bandar.
"This is particularly so for the
less fortunate, allowing them a chance to visit historical places of
interest in the capital," Cikgu Abd Razid told the Bulletin.
"Some of the students come from
poor family backgrounds and cannot afford to travel up to Bandar.
They can only afford to come to BSB once a month so we have
educational trips like this to give them the chance, which at the
same time, helps with their studies," he added.
