Charities Biggest Winners In
Baiduri Masters

Begawan - Charitable organisations were the biggest winners
in the Baiduri Masters charity golf after the prize presentation
yesterday afternoon.
From the tournament proceeds,
several charity and welfare organisations received donations during
the ceremony.
A cheque for B$18,277.78 was
presented to the Special Education Section of the Ministry of
Education to cover the cost of 10 units of specially designed
personal computers for visually impaired students. Cikgu Hj Abdul
Aji Bin Hj Ishak, Acting Director of School cum Acting Head of
Special Education Unit received the cheque on behalf of the Unit.
Malai
Haji Abdullah bin Malai Haji Othman received a cheque for B$8,000 on
behalf of SMARTER Brunei, to partially fund the purchase of a Hi-Ace
Toyota van for the centre.
Dato
Paduka Hj Alimin Bin Hj Abdul Wahab received a cheque for B$10,000
on behalf of Pusat Ehsan to cover the cost of two teachers at the
centre for 2008.
Pehin
Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Hj Suyoi bin Hj
Osman, Minister of Health, received a mock key on behalf of the
Child Development Centre, RIPAS Hospital, signifying the handing
over of several recent projects at the centre financed by Baiduri
Bank.
These include the set up of the
sensory integration and audio visual rooms, books for feeding
clinic, wheelchairs, commodes, chest walkers and stroller buggies,
totaling $27,000.
In addition, a special wheelchair
was presented to Awang Yahya bin Kassim, a house-bound 18-year-old
diagnosed with Spastic Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy and Epilepsy.
All donations were presented by Mr
Pierre Imhof, General Manager of Baiduri Bank.

Golfer Elyas Abdullah Tseu, who
landed a hole-in-one last Sunday at the Baiduri Masters charity golf
event, received the key to his brand new BMW730Li yesterday, from
Dato Paduka Awang Chua Pheng Siong, General Manager of Business
