TAP Briefs Govt Officers On Its
Act, Rules

Begawan - The Employee Trust Fund (TAP), through its
compliance section, yesterday held a fourth briefing session on act
and rules of TAP.
Some 300 officers and staff from
various ministries and government agencies attended the event held
at the Theatre Hall, Ministry of Finance building.
Present as the guest of honour was
TAP Managing Director Awang Yusof bin Haji Abdul Rahman, who during
a welcoming speech, said, "The number of TAP members has increased
by 8.02 per cent, from 90,405 people to 97,651."
. He also said, "Since the start of
TAP visiting business premises in June 2007, the average number of
people registered with TAP is 604 per month, a 50-per cent increase
from the previous year."
"The number of employers that are
registered with TAP has also increased by seven per cent, from 8,135
to 8,674," the guest of honour noted. "The average number of
employer registration has increased by 95 per cent, from 23 to 45
per month, compared to the previous year."
The briefing, delivered by a TAP
officer, a state lawyer and two officers from the Treasury
Department, aimed at ensuring that all ministries and government
agencies understand the act and rules of TAP, while allowing
