RBA, Thai Airways Tie-Up On BSB-Bangkok
Flights
Bandar Seri
Begawan - From May 15, Royal Brunei Airlines (RBA) will be
teaming up with Thai Airways International Public Company Limited to
offer code-share daily flights between Bandar Seri Begawan and
Bangkok.
Under the code-share agreement,
Thai Airways will market RBA flights B1515 and B1516 as TG4602 and
TG4603 respectively.
In a statement released yesterday,
RBA Chief Executive Officer Ray Sayer said that the code-share
agreement with Thai Airways will enable RBA to welcome travellers
from a wider target market.
Thai Airways' spokesperson,
Executive Vice President for Commercial, Pandit Chanapai, meanwhile
pointed out that the collaboration allows passengers in both
countries and connecting passengers from abroad to take advantage of
travel and tourism opportunities in both countries.
RBA
also announced its new Summer Schedule yesterday, which features
standard timings and more frequent flights to popular destinations.
"The airline is committed to
meeting the needs of target passengers in various markets while also
better serving Brunei's travel needs," CEO Sayer was quoted as
saying. The schedule, which aims to improve accessibility to Brunei
Darussalam from regional and international destinations, will take
effect from June 1.
Under the new schedule, passengers
from Brunei and Miri can now take advantage of daily services to
Singapore, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Kota Kinabalu, Hong Kong,
Perth, Brisbane, Auckland, Dubai and London. Flights to Singapore
will be operating twice daily, while those to Kota Kinabalu will be
increased to 17 times every week.
Flights to Kuching will operate
five times a week, to Surabaya six times a week and to Auckland
three times a week directly from Brunei. Flights to Auckland via Brisbane
will continue to operate four times a week. For more information,
