Call For School Leaders To Improve
With SPN21

Begawan - The Minister of Education, Pehin Dato Seri Setia Hj
Abd Rahman Dato Setia Hj Mohamed Taib, stressed the importance for
school leaders to open up their minds, as well as to be more
creative and bold, in rearranging their academic programmes to be in
line with the new SPN21 system.
The minister said this during a
working visit yesterday to Sekolah Menengah Raja Isteri Pengiran
Anak Saleha. He added that the new system is hoped to bring about a
higher quality of education while providing students with adequate
opportunities to achieving their full potential.
During a briefing session with the
principal and head of departments, the minister also voiced his
concerns on the low achievements of students in the public exams and
stressed the secondary school's administration to think of other
effective methods to improve the situation.
He also called for new educational
approaches to implement various learning processes. Global
development, the minister stated, requires school leaders to be
innovative, quick and intelligent in thinking of the latest and best
methods for the students' developments.
SM Raja Isteri Pg Anak Saleha
currently has 1,067 students and 84 teaching staff. Shortly after
the briefing, the minister was brought to tour its classes,
facilities and science labs.
Earlier, the minister visited
Sekolah Rendah Kupang, where he was welcomed by Headmistress, Cikgu
Hjh Mariam Hj Mohammad, and also toured its premises.
Also present throughout the visits
were Deputy. Minister of Education Pg Dato Seri Setia Dr Hj Mohammad
Pg Hj Abd Rahman, the Permanent Secretary, Deputy Permanent
Secretary and other senior officers from the Ministry of Education.
