Four Nabbed In Anti-Gambling Raid

Begawan - The Anti-vice Gambling Unit from the Criminal
Investigation Department of the Royal Brunei Police Force has
successfully apprehended four locals, including two women of about
40 years of age, for their involvement in four-digit (lottery)
activities at a house in Kampong Ayer in the capital.
In the raid, the police confiscated
equipment- and cash worth B$4,000, which are believed to have been
collected from the gambling activities. All equipment were brought
to the police station as evidence.
At the same time, the police also
detained a local man, and found 24 packets of a crystal-like
substance, believed to be "syabu".
Anybody who breaks the law by
dealing with such activitieswill be charged according to Sec 4 CGH
Chapter 28, and if found guilty, the offenders will be fmed B$5000
and imprisoned for 12 months.
Meanwhile, those who possess drugs
can be charged under Section 6 (b) Misuse of Drugs Cap 27, and if
found guilty, offenders can be punished with a maximum of 10 years
in prison or a B$20,000 fine, or both. -- Courtesy of Borneo
