Training On Chocolate Making In
Shanghai

Begawan - The Empire Hotel and Country Club recently sent one
of its chefs for an eight-day-training programme at Laris restaurant
at Three on the Bund, Shanghai, China.
Sarinah
Nursyafigah Binti Muhd Marak, chef de partie, learnt to make
chocolates under the direct supervision of David Laris and his team of
chocolatiers in the Laris' Chocolate room, worked with its leading
chefs and had a closer look at its other kitchens.
Sarinah
enhanced her knowledge on chocolate making and acquired new skills in
creating fine chocolates with distinctive recipes including chocolates
flavoured with chilli, tobacco, green tea, jasmine, chrysanthemum,
cracked pepper coconut ginger and more.
"This was the first time for me to
undergo training outside Brunei and it was very exciting to be in a
different country to learn new techniques in creating chocolate
recipes. I really enjoyed the wonderful experience at Laris restaurant
and I look forward to introducing my new skills to our Brunei guests,"
said Sarinah.
From April 29 to May 10, guests to
The Empire Hotel & Country Club can experience chocolate delights by
award-winning David Laris, world-renowned chocolatier and new world
chef from Shanghai's Laris restaurant at Three on the Bund. This
special promotion will include a chocolate afternoon tea at the Lobby
Lounge, and chocolate creations during the dinner buffet and Sunday
brunch at Atrium Cafe. Laris chocolate boxes are sold at the chocolate
counter on the main lobby.
Guests can learn the secrets of fine
chocolate recipes from David Laris at a special class on May 3 and 4
from 2pm to 5pm.
