Two Men Jailed For Theft

Begawan - A 22-year-old permanent resident got a one year and
six months' jail sentence for seven counts of theft while an
accomplice got two months' jail for one charge of theft.
Mohd
Sanif bin Sulaiman faced a first charge of stealing jewellery and a
coin box from a house at the Skim Perumahan Yayasan Kg Sibulu in April
this year.
A second charge stated the defendant
stole a grinding machine from Rumah Panjang Kg Sibut belonging to a
longhouse occupant on March 31 this year.
The third charge stated the defendant
stole three gallons of regular gasoline from Rumah Panjang Kg Sibut,
Jalan Batang Duri in Temburong on March 16.
The fourth charge stated the
defendant dismantled a car amplifier from a vehicle parked under the
Perumahan Yayasan, Kg Sibut in Temburong on April 10 this year.
The fifth charge said he stole
various personal items, a watch and some money from a house in Kg
Batang Tuau on March 18 this year.
The sixth charge said he stole a 14"
television, a Parang Hang and a gas cylinder from a house in Kg Parit
Perpindahan, Jalan Batang Duri in Temburong on March 18 this year.
Lastly, the defendant faced a joint
charge with Mohd Najib bin Abdullah @ Saban Ajong, 36, of stealing a
lawnmower belonging to the government from Dewan Bahasa Dan Pustaka in
Temburong on March 11 this year. --
