Brunei's Lipitor Supply Not
Affected By U.S. Recall Order
Bandar Seri
Begawan - The supply of Lipitor in Brunei by the Ministry of
Health is not affected by the recall as reported by the United States
Food and Drug Administration.
The reason for the recall is due to
the discovery of counterfeit Lipitor in 90-tablet bottles with the
following labelling, "Repackaged by Med-Pro, Inc Lexington,
Neb" in the lower left corner. The three lot numbers affected
are: * 20722v - with an expiry date 09/2004; * 04132v - expiry date
01/2004; 16942v - expiry date 09/2004.
Tablets with these lot numbers but
without the med-pro repackaging notation are not affected by the
recall.
The Ministry of Health said, it has
checked the supply of Lipitor in Brunei and wishes to ensure the
public that the Lipitor imported into the country through authorized
agency is not affected by this product recall.
