Tanjung Bunut Religious Team Wins Dikir Competition

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Dikir team of Kampong Tanjong Bunut Religious Hall emerged as champions in both the men's and women's categories in the Maulud Syarafil Anaam Dikir competition for youths in the Brunei Muara District yesterday

Second place in men category went to the Sultan Sharif Ali mosque and the Perpindahan Mata Mata Gadong mosque came in third.

Second place for women category went to the Kampong Tamoi mosque and Kampong Sungai Hanching mosque got the third place.

Present at the competition was the Deputy Minister of Finance, Dato Haji Yakub. In his speech, the Deputy Finance Minister talked on the Dikir Maulud Syarafil Anaam for youths as an initiative undertaken for their own benefits.

With this, he said, the youths can take part in any welfare activities and can help them to continue participating in mosque activities.

The Deputy Minister of Finance also urged the adult, the elders and related government agencies to give positive guidance and encouragement to the youth for them to be active in welfare activities for the importance of Islam as a whole.

The competition was divided into two, men's and women's categories. Thirteen teams took part in the competition, including five women teams from mosques and religious halls in the Brunei Muara District.
