Brunei scouts off to 1st Labuan
Jamboree

Awg Hj Badar handing over the
national flag to Awg Saifulrijal Hj Md Hussin. The Brunei Darussalam
Scouts Association sent 30 of its members to the First Scout Jamboree
of the Federal State of Labuan which starts today until June 3. A
flag-handing ceremony was held yesterday morning prior to the
departure of the delegation at the Serasa Ferry Terminal.
The Deputy Chief National
Commissioner of Scouts, Awg Hj Badar bin Hj Ali handed over the
national flag to the head of the delegation, Awg Saifulrijal Hj Md
Hussin, the Commissioner of Headquarters (logistics) during the
ceremony.
The aim for attending the jamboree is
to foster closer ties and to enhance better mutual understanding among
the attending scout members through participation in the various
activities to be held in the course of the jamboree. It is also to
return the invitation of the Labuan Scouts Association.
The jamboree to be held at the
Dataran Merdeka Labuan is expected to be officially opened by the
Minister at the Prime Minister's Office of Malaysia today.
