Princess Highlights Brunei-Japan
Cooperation At Reception

Begawan - Brunei has worked with Japan together in the
political, economic and functional areas and the country gratified by
Japan's continued strong interest in ASEAN.
Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah
Masna, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, highlighted this in her
Sabda at a reception to mark the ASEAN-Japan Exchange Year 2003 at the
International Convention Centre in Berakas yesterday.
"Japan has always been an
important regional partner and a steadfast friend of ASEAN. The depth
and breath of the Brunei relationship covers almost all
spectrums," the Princess said.
In her Sabda, she cited the signing
of the Joint Declaration on Comprehensive Economic Partnership by the
leaders of ASEAN and Japan during the ASEAN-Japan summit in Phnom Penh
last year.
"The Joint Declaration shows the
readiness of both sides to work for closer cooperation in order to
expand trade and stimulate economic growth in the east Asian
region," she said.
Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah
Masna and Pengiran Lela Cheteria Sahibun Najabah hosted the reception.
Present was Pengiran Muda Abdul Qawi.
The ASEAN-Japan Exchange Year 2003 is
one of the initiatives of the Japanese Prime Minister, His Excellency
Junichiro Koizumi which he announced in Singapore last year.
The ASEAN-Japan Exchange Year 2003 is
intended to strengthen ASEAN -Japan cooperation based on the concept
of 'Acting Together-Advancing Together'.-- Courtesy
