Bandar Seri Begawan - Brunei has worked with Japan together in the political, economic and functional areas and the country gratified by Japan's continued strong interest in ASEAN.

Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, highlighted this in her Sabda at a reception to mark the ASEAN-Japan Exchange Year 2003 at the International Convention Centre in Berakas yesterday.

"Japan has always been an important regional partner and a steadfast friend of ASEAN. The depth and breath of the Brunei relationship covers almost all spectrums," the Princess said.

In her Sabda, she cited the signing of the Joint Declaration on Comprehensive Economic Partnership by the leaders of ASEAN and Japan during the ASEAN-Japan summit in Phnom Penh last year.
