Oedo Sukeroku Taiko on the drums.
Thirty children with special needs
from KACA House in Kg Kiulap and Kg Sengkurong yesterday afternoon saw
the traditional Japanese performance of drums from "Oedo Sukeroku
Taiko". They were all accompanied by their mothers, guardians and
also playgroup assistants under the supervision of Ms Janey Gilkey.
The special needs children were
thrilled with the loud bangs of music coming from the Japanese drums
on the 8th floor of the Orchid Garden Hotel in Berakas.
The performers were dressed up in
colourful attire, making the young visitors smile and clap with joy.
The purpose of the trip was to expose
these kids and encourage them to be more active.
The show was organised by the Embassy
of Japan to Negara Brunei Darussalam and the Japan Foundation. It is
supported by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.
