Japanese lecturers to deliver talk
on entrepreneurship

Two prominent Japanese lecturers - Mr Masahiko Komori and Mr
Ryoji Kono, pioneers in the world of entrepreneurship, will make an
appearance tomorrow at the 'Entrepreneurship in Brunei Darussalam'
seminar, which aims to encourage local entrepreneurs and government
officials, as well as students to embrace the true entrepreneurial
approach. Both Mr Masahiko Komori and Mr Ryogi Kono will deliver two
lectures, for which the first topic will be on 'Factors to promote
Entrepreneurship - Experience of East Asian Countries', while the
second on 'Promoting Entrepreneurial Success through Japanese
Experience'.
Mr Masahiko Komori, a senior research
analyst at the Japan Economic Research Institute, Development Bank of
Japan, holds both an MBA from the University of California, Los
Angeles, and a BA in Economics, Hitotsubashi University.
He also has several international
publications including 'Entrepreneurship in Emerging Economies: The
Creation and Development of New Firms in Latin America and East Asia,'
which was published by the Inter-American Development Bank in April
2002, and 'International Comparison of Entrepreneurial Activities in
East Asia', published by DBJ-JERI Report in March 2002.
Meanwhile, Mr Ryoji Kono is a
research associate, at the Asia and Pacific Research Centre, Waseda
University, Tokyo. He is a graduate from Keio University Graduate
School of Business and Commerce/Master of Commerce.
The seminar coincides with the
ASEAN-Japan Exchange Year 2003, which is jointly organised by the
Embassy of Japan and the Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources.
It is open to interested members of the public.
The seminar will be held tomorrow at
9 am, in the Indera Kayangan Ballroom of the Empire Hotel and Country
Club.
