KUALA LUMPUR (AP/Bernama) - His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam will visit Malaysia this weekend for talks with Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad, the foreign ministry said Thursday. His Majesty will arrive Friday and stay for three days, holding discussions with Mahathir in the northern island state of Penang, the ministry said in a statement.

Both leaders are expected to discuss issues of mutual concern as well as areas of cooperation to enhance relations between Malaysia and Brunei, the Foreign Ministry statement added.

The two countries have long-standing good relations and are joint signatories to regional trade and security agreements.

Penang's Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Abdul Rahman Abbas will host a dinner for His Majesty and his delegation. His Majesty will also visit the Penang Development Corporation and Bukit Bendera hill resort.
