Drug Addict Jailed And Ordered Lashes

Bandar Seri Begawan - A local man was sentenced to five years jail and ordered five lashes after he was found guilty under the Anti- Drugs Act.

Omar Bin Ali Yuddin, aged 41 years old, was convicted of having on him more than 2.8 grammes of Methylamphetamine, the 'A' class controlled drug for trafficking.

For the charge, he was sentenced to five years in jail and ordered five strokes of the cane.

Omar was also convicted of consuming methylamphetamine, and received two years behind bars.

The court ordered the sentences of a total of five years imprisonment and five lashes to run concurrently as from today.
