ICT fair launched

The exhibition showcases various ICT projects done by the
participating schools
An Information and Communication
Technology (ICT) Exhibition organised by the Sultan Sharif Ali
Secondary School was launched yesterday. The Head of Human Resource
Relation Services of Brunei Shell Petroleum Company Sdn Bhd (BSP), Awg
Hj Mohd Zaini Hj Awg Omar, officiated the launching.
The exhibition, held at the school
premises in Kg Salambigar, was participated by several government and
private primary and secondary schools.
It showcased ICT displays on the
various projects done by the participating schools.
Increasing students' awareness of the
use of ICT in the field of mathematics and to enhance the
effectiveness of teaching and learning of mathematics in the classroom
environment by increasing the use of ICT are among the objectives of
the exhibition.
Awg Hj Mohd Zaini, who also launched
the 11th EXPLOMATH 2003 held at the same venue, stated that more
effective teaching and learning methods must be extracted to achieve
the quiz objectives, as it is in line with the development of modern
technology such as learning mathematics through ICT, which can make
learning easier and more effective.
It will also help to expand students'
views on the subject and help them to realise the importance of
mathematics in their lives.
Among the participating schools were
Sayyidina Husain, STPRI, St George's School, St Andrew's School, Nusa
Laila Puteri and PDS.
The guest of honour later toured the
exhibition and viewed the ICT projects on display.
