UBD maths dept impresses professor

The first Head of the UBD Mathematics Department, Professor Ivo Duntsch, was highly impressed with the present standards of the UBD Mathematics Department he had contributed in creating many years ago. He was particularly happy with the way the current Dean of the UBD Science Faculty, Dr. Edwards and Head of the UBD Mathematics Department, Dr. Sannay Mohammed have continuously projected the capabilities of the UBD Mathematics Department at international level.

Professor Duntsch, who is at present the Head of the Computer Science Department at Brock University, St. Catharines, Canada, learned of the current elevated research status of UBD's Mathematics Department during a research visit of a UBD expatriate staff, K. K. Nwabueze. At the end of his visit he presented a lecture titled, "Teaching group theory with new technology at the University level". This lecture was well received by the mathematics department of Brock University.

At present, Professors Omar Kihel (University of Brock) and K. K. Nwabueze (UBD) have already completed a joint research paper in Algebra.
