Brunei Exports Gas To US and Europe First Time

Bandar Seri Begawan - Brunei L.N.G. last year delivered record 203.5 shipments of gas and also exported Liquefied Natural Gas to the United States and to Europe for the first time.

The oil and gas industry remains the biggest sector in Brunei, bringing in a major portion of Brunei's revenue the Managing Director of Brunei L.N.G. Dato Haji Hamdillah said in an exclusive interview with Radio Television Brunei (RTB) last night.

Dato Haji Hamdillah also said that the Brunei Japan Friendship Association (B.J.F.A.) was created to promote and to enhance economic, technical, cultural and educational cooperation between Brunei and Japan.

This year in its annual plan there were certain priorities. Firstly to enhance the operation of B.J.F.A and secondly to promote the Asean-Japan exchange visits.

Japan he said remains Brunei's largest customer for L.N.G., purchasing close to 90 per cent of Brunei's production. This is in spite of the woeful economic conditions in Japan. -- Courtesy of Radio Television Brunei
