Two Thai Women, Man Nabbed In Anti-Vice Raid
By Hj Minor Absah & Lyna Mohammad

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Anti-Vice Unit from Gadong Headquarters detained two Thai women believed to be involved in prostitution in the capital Saturday night.

In the raid conducted at a hotel in Jerudong around 9.30pm, the enforcement officers also apprehended a Thai man for soliciting clients.

A spokesperson for the unit said both women, aged 29, who entered the country on visit passes, were believed to be operating in the country since a fortnight.

The three suspects have long been under the watchful eyes of the enforcement officers. The public tipped off the police that the women were staying at two separate rooms at the hotel.

When the raid took place last night, two customers who were believed to have been in the rooms with the women managed to escape.

The Anti-Vice officers then laid a trap to apprehend the Thai man who did not realize that the officers were watching him closely.

All three, as well as the car believed to have been used to transport both the women should they be "on call", were later taken to the police station and the three were remanded for further investigation.

The Thai man is likely to be produced in the court today. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
