By Cedrina Norlaila A. Clark

Children enjoy educational books at the library

Romping around the playground
Tiong Hin Superstore in Kg Jerudong
launched its "Wonderland" for all kiddies yesterday. It is
open daily and from 9am till 10pm at the second level of the building.
Any kiddie who walks in will enjoy the free facilities of games and a
small library, watch VCDs or television.
Shop assistants also will guide the
kiddies on the correct way of handling the playground facilities.
The children can have a break and
relax on the tables and chairs specially designed and with special
colour effects on the tables and tiny stools and chairs.
There is also an internet service for
pay, depending on the time taken using. Kiddies upon arrival at the
second floor will receive a colourful helium balloon every weekend.
Kiddies were given different
watercolours to touch with their palms and press on the walls to show
that they were present on the launching day. They were assisted by
their parents and staff. They signed or wrote their names on the
walls. The palm imprints the kiddies made on the whole wall were
colourful.
When the kiddies are grown up, it
will be a memorable one for them having attended the launching of the
"Wonderland".
The "Wonderland" has
security guards too for safety reasons.
The purpose of the
"Wonderland" is for their parents, grandparents shopping to
let kiddies enjoy their time playing. Elders can have their " a
la carte" meals.
The special menu prepared for the
adults and the Café is from "Deli Bites", managed and owned
by Margaret at Jubilee Hotel in the capital.
There are also popcorn, candy and
cookie corners.
The Cafe is also a nice spot for
parents and friends to get-together and have a friendly chat, business
talks, private talks.
Magazines such as Autocar, Lime,
Citta Bella, Borneo Bulletin, Media Permata, Home Decoration, Young
Parents, Cleo, Her World, Female, are for parents and teenagers to
enjoy reading. Mdm Lim , Manager of the Superstore, in Kg Jerudong,
said the concept is "Fusion," "East meets West".
While dining inside the café, there
is also music entertainment from VCD and CD cassettes.
The environment is lively, bright,
colourful and with lots of decoration and play stuffs, large colourful
rubber blocks with alphabets and numbers on it to educate the kiddies.
