campaign
Wasai Wong Kadir, one of the
country's most breathtaking natural waterfalls in Labi, yesterday had
a makeover from the staff of Brunei Shell Petroleum Company Sdn Bhd
(BSP). The cleaning campaign was led by Deputy Managing Director Hj
Zainal Abidin Hj Mohd Ali, with cooperation from the Labi community
and the Brunei Shell Ladies Association (BSLA) in a project organised
by the Corporate External Affairs Department.
The primary objective of this noble
activity, which started as early as 7am and didn't finish until late
noon, was to make the site more appealing for visitors and thus,
attract more tourists to the Belait district.
A striking difference could be seen
at the end of the day, especially with railings at the Wasai's
compound, which was red and yellow, symbolising BSP's colours.
Participants divided amongst
themselves different chores, such as clearing the weeds, creepers,
rubbish and dead leaves.
To commemorate this achievement, Hj
Zainal Abidin and Hj Mohd Zaini Hj Awg Omar, the Head of HR Relations
and Services, planted a tree at the Wasai Wong Kadir's car park
compound. Another tree was also planted by President of BSLA and the
Ketua Kampong of Labi.
