Cover up In Damuan Park Needed Urgently 

Bandar Seri Begawan - There was a marked change in Kampong Ayer yesterday when the village experienced high tide during daylight hours and not at night as was the norm.

The water level in kampong Ayer reached up to about two point six metres high this afternoon.

At around eleven this morning, when R-T-B crew recorded the reading, the water level had risen to two point five- metres. This indicates the dangerous level of the water. Kampong Ayer experienced the high tide around ten in the morning until three in the afternoon.

In view of this, residents of Kampong Ayer are advised to be alert for the possibility of the occurrence of floods following heavy' rainfall as the tide rises. They are also reminded to keep their families under safe surveillance especially the children.

Operators of water taxis and speedboat transports are also reminded to proceed with extra caution and at a slower speed when passing near residential areas in kampong ayer.  -- Courtesy of Radio Television Brunei
