Prayers At Istana Nurul Iman Close With Dikir Ceremony

Bandar Seri Begawan - The nightly Dikir to commemorate the birthday of Prophet Muhammad Sallalahu Alaihi Wassalama for the past 12 nights at Istana Nurul Iman concluded last night with a closing Dikir ceremony.

The ceremony was performed in the presence of yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Lela Cheteria Sahibun Najabah Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Aziz.

It began with the recitation of the Al-fatihan verse by Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Khatib Awang Haji Hamidon.

Mosque officials followed this with a Dikir presentation. Similar rituals were also held at mosques and suraus throughout the country since the second of this month.

The doa Dikir was read by Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Khatib Awang Haji Hamidon. Meanwhile the doa selamat was read by the state mufti, Yang Dimuliakan Lagi Dihormati Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Aziz.

Among those present at the event were Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran-pengiran Cheteria, cabinet ministers, members of the privy council, deputy ministers, Pengiran Pengiran, permanent secretaries and Yang Dimuliakan Pehin-pehin Manteri. -- Courtesy of Radio Television Brunei
