Water, Water Everywhere in Kampong Ayer

Kampong Ayer - Kampong Ayer and other areas of the Brunei River will experience high tide beginning tomorrow until Thursday.

The Marine Department says the high tide has been forecast to reach between 2.2 metres to 2.4 metres between 10 in the morning and three in the afternoon.

Operators of water taxis and speedboat transports plying between Bandar Seri Begawan and Pekan Bangar are advised to proceed with extra care and at a slower speed when passing near residential areas in Kampong Ayer.

Commuters are reminded to be on the look out for the probability of danger from flotsams especially when the tide is at its highest and when possible not to venture in the heavy rain since visibility is deemed to be very poor.

Navigators on ships and barges are asked to sound their horns and put on lights at all times when visibility is poor.

Residents along the river banks are advised to be on the alert for the possibility of of floods following heavy rainfall as the tide rises.
