UBD students to start teaching
practice
By Zan Hosni
Students of Universiti Brunei
Darussalam (UBD), mostly from the 3rd and 4th year, will be undergoing
another session of teaching practice beginning on May 19. Teaching
practice as well as observation classes are in store for these future
teachers. They will be given the opportunity to expose themselves to
the teaching profession in local government as well as private schools
throughout the nation. Secondary as well as a number of 6th Form
Colleges will be accepting as many as 18 to 20 university students who
will then partake in teaching various class levels.
The students hope to enhance their
skills and further develop themselves as teachers through such
practice. From the 6-week teaching and observation period, they can
gain valuable insight from other experienced teachers, practice their
teaching methodologies as well as theories learnt from their previous
classes. A firsthand experience can be obtained and they can also
familiarise themselves with numerous aspects of life as a teacher.
UBD students undergoing teaching
practices at DPM Al-Muhtadee Billah College (MD) will be attending a
briefing at the college's conference room this Saturday at 8am.
