TCP visits BSP

A site visit to BSP's
info-telecommunications networking system
Brunei Shell Petroleum Company Sdn
Bhd (BSP) yesterday provided a closer insight to officials from the
Town and Country Planning of the Ministry of Development. The
16-member delegation, comprising officials from different sections of
the department including the Planning Development Section, Planning
Information Section, District Development Section and Strategic
Development Section, was headed by Awg Haji Daud Haji Duraman, Acting
Commissioner of Town and Country Planning.
On hand to welcome the visitors at
the Management Board Room of BSP's Head Office in Panaga, was Dyg
Masni Haji Munir, Acting Corporate External Affairs Adviser who also
presented them with an overview of BSP's business activities.
This was followed by an overview
presentation of BSP's information planning and process from Awg Yahkup
Hj Menudin, BSP's Information Manager (IM). The delegation was also
briefed on the human resources development and services offered in the
company by Malai Nuridah Sheikh Mohammad, Head of HR Planning and
Development (HPD) and Haji Mohd Zaini Haji Awg Omar , Head HR
Relations and Services (HRS).
In the afternoon, they listened to a
presentation on Geomatics Support by Jemmy Ang Teo Ching, Head of
Geomatics Support (TSM/2). The visit then continued with a tour to
BSP's various info-telecommunication technology related sections such
as the Document Management and Corporate IT Services (IMD) with the
focus on the Company's Central Archives.
They were then taken to the GI-D
(Group Infrastructure Desktop) Helpdesk. GI-D has been heralded as the
oncoming of a "global" method of operation as it enables IT
in Shell Group worldwide to operate, communicate and collaborate as a
single community.
The visit concluded at the Corporate
Telecoms and Networks (IMT) where the delegation observed all the
available network facilities that are in place in BSP including its
offshore platforms.
