Flip Boards To Bring The Message
Home In Brunei

Bandar Seri
Begawan - The rapid development in technology has prompted the
Bandar Seri Begawan municipal board to introduce new innovative
measures in bringing the people closer to progress.
The department has embraced the
concept of flip boards in assimilating information to the public in a
more sophisticated and creative way.
According to the chairman of the
municipal board, Awang Haji Saji Haji Mudin, his department plays a
part in changing the concept of signboards in line with the rapid
growth of high quality technologies.
Awang Haji Saji was speaking this
morning at the launching of the "flip board" concept being
introduced throughout the country. He said the changes from the
conventional signboards into flip boards require high costs.
At the initial stage, a local
advertising firm, Sunlit Advertising Sendirian Berhad, following the
endorsement of a contract by the Bandar Seri Begawan Municipal Board,
has built several sky billboards and flip boards.
The installation of the flip boards
within the municipal area is aimed at providing a systematic way of
conventional advertising, besides upgrading the format into a modern
method.
The new eye-catching look will also
provide convenience to the general public, especially in facilitating
travellers and tourists to their destinations.
For the time being, 12 strategic
locations have been identified for the erection of the flip boards.
One will be placed at the turning junction of the Tutong camp traffic
light, and another at the Rasau traffic point in Kuala Belait.
The charge for advertising using the
flip boards varies; with type "A" costing $95 per day, and
type "B" costing $55 per day. The display time is eight
seconds per advertisement, and 16 seconds for repeat time. Meanwhile
the launching was held at the Taman Jubli Perak parking lot at the
capital. --
